Shake-ups, rides and entertainment are all waiting for you! If you haven’t had the chance to yet, make your way to the Effingham County Fairgrounds in Altamont for the final days of the Effingham County Fair. Bring the whole family to enjoy fabulous fair food, games, animals and more!
Today the main arena will host harness racing at 1:00 p.m. and a rodeo at 7:30 p.m. It’s also armband night at the fair! The midway opens at 6:00 p.m., and armbands will cost $20 for unlimited rides. Local bluegrass heroes, Firebox, will perform on the free stage from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.
The festivities continue tomorrow with thoroughbred and quarter horse racing at noon, and the midway will open at 5:00 p.m. at regular prices. Then purchase your tickets for the evening entertainment, featuring opening act Broseph E. Lee at 7:00 p.m., followed by The Voice‘s seventh season winner, Craig Wayne Boyd, at 8:00 p.m. on the main stage. Highway 15 will also be performing at 8:00 p.m. on the free stage.
On Saturday, the midway will open at 1:00 p.m., and Rob Thompson will be performing his magic act throughout the day on the free stage. At 2:00 p.m., enjoy an ATV pull at the main arena, then come back at 6:30 p.m. for the highly anticipated demolition derby and lawnmower soccer.
