Looking for something to do? Downtown Effingham is busy this weekend hosting events for everyone to enjoy!
Don’t miss the first annual Taste of Freedom, an Effingham Central Business Group event, from 5-8 p.m. tonight. Join others downtown for a night of showcasing Effingham’s Central Business District. Delicious food is to be served throughout the evening and stores will be open later for after hours shopping. Enjoy live musical entertainment at Millennium Accessories, Martin’s IGA, Baseball Card Connection, Chestnut Family Music and the Courthouse gazebo. Baby & the Beanstalk and Posh Photography will be celebrating their grand openings tonight and Bladez Salon will be featuring $5 services. Celebrate Flag Day by voting for your favorite business decorated in all things American! All participants in the voting will be entered in a drawing to win $50. If you’re still not ready to leave after 8 p.m., you can check out music by Suede at Village Wine & Gifts until 10 p.m. or Brian Lee & His Orchestra at Joe Sippers Café until 9 p.m. Come out this evening and enjoy shopping, great food and live music!
Downtown Effingham is also host to this year’s Farmer’s Market! It will be a reoccurring event every Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Courthouse lawn. The Market provides our community with fresh, locally grown food, art, live music and quality artisan goods produced right here in our hometown. Be sure to come out to support your community and your health by buying local!
Have a fantastic weekend!
