One magical day, one magical night. Synchronizing, amplifying, enjoying the light!
The Creative Link is at it again! Join them at The Stage at Lake Sara tomorrow for the second annual LakeLights Arts and Music Festival: a fun day filled with live music, art demonstrations, workshops, great food, local artisan booths, kids’ activities and more.
The event will kick off with a 5K run/walk at 7 a.m., and doors will open for the festival at 10 a.m. Throughout the day, the Shady Stage will host a number of musical acts, including Steve & Daisy, Jiggy & the Source, Shiva Blast, Steve Boyd & Kevin Luthy, Lance Downs, Blake Hayes, Drew Robinson and Garrett Burris & the Bathtub Hooch Band.
The young ones can enjoy a Kids’ Village until 4 p.m., which will include an art wall, a bounce house, luminaria decorating for Relay for Life, face painting, competitive games, a music group and more.
Day workshops, like basic guitar care, morning yoga, an introduction to improv, hula hooping and community drum circles, will all take place on the Main Stage. Don’t forget to cheer on your favorite participant of the Effminster Dog Show, taking place at 1 p.m. All proceeds from the show will benefit the Effingham County Humane Society. You’ll also be able to browse several vendor booths filled with local artisan goods and foods.
Stay into the evening for more workshops, such as evening yoga and fire poi demonstrations. Head to the Main Stage to see live musical performances by The Thinga-Ma Jug Band, ClusterPluck and headliners Aaron Kamm and the One Drops.
For artists and art-lovers alike, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Tickets are $15 for pre-sale or $20 at the gate; pre-sale tickets can be purchased at Joe Sippers Cafe and Chestnut Family Music in Downtown Effingham. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult.
